Is there a charge for a technician to come out?

Our trip and diagnosis fee is $99.00. Upon the technician’s arrival they will inspect the garage door(s) and opener(s) and advise what the issues are and what the repair costs will be. If you decided to move forward he could most likely do the repairs at that time. Our trucks are fully equipped with all standard parts.

Do you offer free online estimates?

Yes, we do offer free online estimates for sales of new garage doors and garage door openers.

How much does a garage door cost?

Garage door pricing differs upon a few factors: Size, Type, Color, Thickness etc. To obtain the most accurate pricing, you would want to speak with one of our sales specialists to further assist you.

Do I need an insulated door?

Insulated garage doors are a great benefit to every home, especially when there is a heated room above the garage. Additionally, insulated garage doors help keep the warmth in your home during the cold winter months and it operates smoother and more quiet.

How long will it take to get new doors?

The average lead-time for a door that is a stock item is typically 1-2 weeks. Custom and special made doors usually take 4-6 weeks. (Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lead times have been pushed back by the manufacturer).

What happens to my old doors?

A great advantage to having one of our technicians install a new door for you, is the removal and disposal process. We efficiently remove the old door, along with any old hardware, and drop it off at our local recycling center.

Can I use my existing garage door opener on my new door?

Yes, our technicians are able to reconnect your existing motor to your new doors.

We lost power and now the garage door won’t open or close, what do we do?

There is an emergency release cord hanging down from the rail on the opener. You will need to pull down on the handle to disengage the door from the opener. Once you have successfully pulled down the cord, this will release the door from the opener allowing you to manually operate the door until one of our technicians can get out to you. NOTE: Only garage door professionals can work on any and all garage door parts, as garage doors can be dangerous if not properly dealt with. Please call our office to schedule a service call and do not attempt any service work on your garage doors or motors.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, check and Venmo. We also provide our customers with the ability to pay right online once we send over the invoice.

What kind of openers do you repair?

We repair all brands of garage door openers. We install Liftmaster and Marantec Openers. Liftmaster Openers are Belt Drive and have the Wifi Built-in along with the MyQ App. The Marantec Openers are the safest and quietest in the industry and they also have the best warranty.

Should I hire a professional installer?

Garage doors are the largest moving object in your home. All repairs and installations of any garage door components need to be done by a skilled professional. Trying to fix or install any garage door component could result in injury. Do not attempt any service work on your garage doors or motors. 

Why do I have to hold the button down to get the door to close?

It sounds like you could have an opener or photo eye issue. Try to move any obstructions at the bottom corners of your door and make sure there is nothing interfering with the photo eyes. If there is still an issue, call our office to set up a service call.

I have a damaged panel, what do I do?

In order for us to properly confirm what type of door you have and if it is still being manufactured, we would need photos of the inside and outside of the damaged panel. Upon examination of the photos we may be able to determine what make and model the door is and who the manufacturer is. All images can be sent to our email: sales@newenglandoverheaddoor.com.

Can I buy a remote/keypad from you?

We do not sell any parts retail. Everything we do offer is furnished/installed at the time of a service call with one of our technicians.

How do I reprogram my keypad code?

To reprogram your keypad code you can simply search online the brand keypad you have and how to reprogram the code. There are many step by step tutorials on how to reprogram the code on your keypad. How do I replace the battery in my remote/keypad?
